Our story

Barakhadi was born from a simple goal: help families keep their Marathi heritage alive. Many children of Marathi families abroad want to learn the language, but textbooks and weekend classes alone often struggle to hold their attention.

We knew there had to be a better way, one that meets kids where they are, uses the technology they enjoy and feels like play rather than work. So experienced Marathi teachers and technology experts built Barakhadi together: 300+ interactive activities for conversation, reading and writing.

Today Barakhadi is used by families learning at home and by Marathi shalas, where teachers run their classes on it.

Where the name comes fromबारा means twelve. The बाराखडी is the chart of the twelve forms every consonant takes, one for each vowel sign. It is where every Marathi reader starts.
